Radiohead or er... Rodeohead (and Kiki & Herb)

Have you guys heard Hard 'n Phirm's bluegrass medley of Radiohead tunes? You can dl it here: Rodeohead.

It's oddly entertaining. Actually, I like bluegrass. And I like Radiohead. I just never thought of them combined.

I have heard Radiohead sung by Kiki of Kiki and Herb. Do you know who they are? Just check out the site. They perform Creep, Exit Music For A Film, Life in a Glass House and No Surprises. Their show is hard to describe, but I think they manage to do justice to Radiohead.

As I've said before, I love Ewan McGregor's performance in Velvet Goldmine - he sings, he dances but not like in Moulin Rouge. It's more like a Kurt Cobain/Iggy Pop kind of thing. Anyway, Jonathon Rhys-Myers plays a glam rocker and it turns out that Thom Yorke recorded all of his vocals for the movie. It has a Freddie Mercury-ish sound to it.

Re: Radiohead or er... Rodeohead (and Kiki & Herb)

Just a brief note to say I saw Kiki and Herb at Carnegie Hall recently. It was billed as their last concert ever. It seems that Kiki is going to grad school. Really! S/he's getting a Masters in Scene Design I think.

Near the end, they had a few celebrities join them for a song including Rufus Wainwright, Sandra Bernhardt and Isaac Mizrahi.

Interesting mix of fans. The crowd was dedicated. I am nowhere near that level. I just appreciate their originality relative to what else is out there.

But Kiki had some choice lines. She said she knows when it's time to go when she's asked to leave. I liked that. I liked the Joy Division/New Order part and When Doves Cry. Institutionalized was really good too. The Wu-tang Clan/Eminem part was great. Last time she threw in some Kelis.

Herb has such stamina and talent. Very impressive. I think it's cool that he collaborated with Bob Mould at some point. Anyway, it was interesting. I'll give them that. Not for everyone. That's for sure. But now we won't even have a choice because they have retired for the time being.

Rodeohead

I was looking for my dl of Rodeohead and went back to the original site and found it wasn't there so I just wanted to update the link to go to the main page for Hard 'n Phirm: http://hardnphirm.com/.
