a lot like love trailer/ cindy mp3 by tammany hall nyc

Well, it certainly is a pleasure to have to update my Tammany Hall posting(s).

So the questions are:
"What is that song in the 'A Lot Like Love' trailer?" and
"Where can I find [Tammany Hall NYC's] Cindy mp3?"

Okay, I think I answered the first question with the second question. The answer to the second question is go to the official Tammany Hall NYC site. Definitely listen to more of their music while you're there.

I went on a THNYC kick shortly after hearing Cindy play on Scrubs. More recently, I had seen the tv ads for A Lot Like Love and noticed the beginning of Cindy playing over it but it wasn't until 2nite when I saw the entire trailer in the theater. Cindy plays for a significant portion of the trailer, and I realized this is why you guys have been looking for the mp3. Anyway, it's a great song in its entirety and it is totally wack that it isn't on the soundtrack. However, you should think about getting one of Tammany Hall's albums. You won't regret it. They are really lovely.

Re: a lot like love trailer/ cindy mp3 by tammany hall nyc

I forgot to mention, you can buy your very own copies of these tunes at Amazon.com: Cindy, Wait for Jane and Always on Sunday, the OG versions, are on the acoustic album Back in the Bottle which you can find here: Back in the Bottle.

The remixes, not really cuz they are actually re-recorded, but more like the electric versions are here: Buddy.

I like both and couldn't really recommend one over the other. I think you should try one and get the other or just get them both. They will definitely grow on you. It took me awhile to really appreciate them fully.

Eat This New York soundtrack and Tammany Hall NYC

For those who want to know, yes, two of the members of THNYC are responsible for the Eat This New York soundtrack. I think it is only available at the band's site: Take me to the THNYC site.

The band is having a well-deserved banner year!

review of 7/6/05 concert at mercury lounge and cindy mp3 by tammany hall nyc

Two things:

1) I wrote yet another hyperbolic yet accurate (I swear!) review of a THNYC show here: Tammany Hall NYC Concert on 7/6/05 at Mercury Lounge, NYC.

2) In looking up the new album Marathon at Amazon, I noticed that you can dl the Cindy mp3 there: Take me to the Cindy mp3.

a lot like love trailer - the other version

Ok, I will acknowledge that there was another version of the trailer featuring non-THNYC songs. I did notice. Someone said the main song in that version was Aqualung's Brighter Than Sunshine. But seriously, check out Tammany Hall NYC.

Re: a lot like love trailer/ cindy mp3 by tammany hall nyc

Wonder of wonders, I have to be perfectly honest, I didn't really expect to be wowed by A Lot Like Love in any shape of form. I was just thrilled to hear Tammany Hall's Cindy used so prominently in the trailer and tv promo. But then I ended up seeing it and found it quite watchable. It is a predictably cute movie. I would even go far as to say, if you're in the mood for a romantic comedy, this one is not bad. And to top it off, that song Brighter Than Sunshine by Aqualung is a nice little song. And while I was mildly ranting against the soundtrack of a movie I hadn't seen yet, now I would have to say that the A Lot Like Love soundtrack is totally cute despite the glaring omission of Cindy. But I have a feeling that the licensing of Cindy for this movie trailer is a harbinger of good things to come for TH. So, I will stop hatin and start with the lovin.

cindy by tammany hall nyc on "scrubs"

If you're a fan of Scrubs, you might've noticed they've been showing cast favorites. Tonight is a fave picked by John C. McGinley and Neil Flynn and guess which one it is:

MY LUCKY NIGHT
SEAN AND ELLIOT'S RELATIONSHIP IS PUT TO THE TEST WHEN THEIR SECRETS ARE REVEALED, LEAVING J.D. TO WRESTLE WITH HIS TRUE FEELINGS ABOUT ELLIOT -- SCOTT FOLEY GUEST STARS

More to the point, it's the ep where I first heard "Cindy" which led to the discovery of the existence of this phenomenal band Tammany Hall NYC. Coolness. I'm looking forward to watching the scene. It's at the end of the ep and works really well.

I listened to bits and pieces of the accompanying podcast by John C. McGinley and Neil Flynn (http://www.nbc.com/Scrubs/commentary.shtml#main). They didn't comment on the song. But they talk about the crane shots and how there are homages to The Graduate and Woody Allen. Anyway, just thought it was worth mentioning.

cindy by tammany hall nyc on scrubs

Darn it. I fell asleep before the end and then it was time for 8th and Ocean (poor Sabrina) when I regained consciousness. But this was not before noticing yet another TH song was featured in the new ep. It was a re-use of Someone which was on Scrubs awhile back. So that makes 3 Tammany Hall songs featured on Scrubs so far.

cindy by tammany hall nyc on scrubs

I got a chance to re-watch the Scrubs scene with Cindy underlaying it. I think that makes sense...running under it? Anyway, I noticed that it was edited so that the song clip is continuous this time. The first time I saw it, the song starts at JD starts to run out of the hospital. Then the song stops abruptly as JD is abruptly blocked by the Janitor. Then the running and song resume.

Nerd much? Yes, I do.

Scrubs Soundtrack 2 featuring Cindy by Tammany Hall NYC

Very exciting news: that song you've been looking for from Scrubs, the unforgettable Cindy by Tammany Hall NYC, is now available on the Scrubs, Vol. 2, Original Soundtrack.

Here is the iTunes link to Cindy:
http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?playlistId=151910966&s=143441&i=151911083. It will open up iTunes and take you to the song.

Congrats to the band. This inclusion on the Scrubs soundtrack is well-deserved!

While you're checking out the soundtrack, you may notice that my new musical interest, Colin Hay, is also included. It is My Brillian Feat from the Going Somewhere album which also has that Waiting for My Real Life to Begin song on it which I really like.
