Jason Mraz on Tonight Show with Jay Leno on 7/26/05

So I guess TP is his GF based on his nice pink "TPISMYGF" t-shirt. I wonder if that R. Kelly-esque song "Plane" is about her. But I don't want to be a hata. I haven't even listened to the entire album (Mr. A-Z) yet let alone listened to "Plane" twice. So I'll withold judgment until I've really listened to the album. I mean, it's a sweet song - if you happen to be the one he's talking about it. I'm not sure otherwise...

Anyway, let me return to Jason Mraz on Leno. He performed "Wordplay" which he had released earlier on an eletronic EP so I'd heard it before a bunch of times. It's very self-referential which is a tricky thing to do. Don't want to come off too obnoxious or as someone who takes himself too seriously (I'm speaking as someone who is often self-referential and think, I sound like someone who needs to lighten up). But it's a cute song especially to us fans since we were there with him, we get it.

I did my patented back-to-back triple viewing and enjoyed the song and performance more and more each time. I wonder if the new guitarist was performing with the band. Toka makes a nice little vocal contribution on this song. I skipped seeing Jason Mraz opening for Alanis Morissette but plan on catching him when he swings by this fall as the headliner.

Jason Mraz on Today Show on 7/30/05

Just wanted to mention that I accidentally caught this. I was on the phone, channel-surfing and came upon Jason Mraz and his band performing The Remedy outside of Rockefeller Center for the Today Show. They looked like they were enjoying themselves and it was packed. They sounded good. Then they talked briefly to JM about how it has been a few years since his big breakout and about the pressure to live up to the earlier success was, etc., etc. Then JM and band performed Wordplay. Oh, the commentators had to mention that the male to female ratio in the audience was about 1:10. And JM said, yeah, these are all of my sisters. Anyway, I was glad I caught it. I admit I would've been a little disappointed if I had heard about it later. I just wish I had taped it but I didn't. Anyway, I see I have reminders to tape Conan on 8/16 and Jimmy Kimmel on 8/25. I assume it is to tape Jason Mraz again - I'm not anticipating anyone else being on. I didn't write that part down! So my system is a bit lacking. LOL.

Jason Mraz' The Remedy and Jimmy Kimmel reminder

People keep asking so I guess I never put this anywhere: the inspiration for The Remedy is reportedly a friend of M.R.A.Z. who was diagnosed with cancer and had to contend with treatment, etc.
Don't forget, JM will be on Jimmy Kimmel on Thursday, 8/25.

I have to say, while I am enjoying his new stuff, I think I might have (gasp) outgrown him. I really liked his performance of You and I Both on Leno last year (or was it the year before, I can't remember anymore). And I was totally into his show at the Beacon (as you can read at Pop Music. But I haven't really felt that same thrill this time around. Oh, I take it back. He and the band seemed pretty up on the Today show this summer. I guess he's also grown. A fellow fan said JM seems so gaunt and less youthful these days - not that we judge by such superficial qualities. But he's changed. I guess Keane got it right - "Everybody's changing and I don't feel the same."

Re: Jason Mraz on Jimmy Kimmel on 8/26/05 (Friday night)

D'oh. My bad. I couldn't read my reminder to myself. I was like, do I mean Friday as in after hours Thursday or Friday as in Friday? ANYWAY, let's try this again:

Jason Mraz will be on Jimmy Kimmel 2nite between 12:06-1:06 am, Friday as in if you want to be technical, early Saturday morning.

Jason Mraz on Jimmy Kimmel Live on 8/26/05

So it was a pretty good performance. I think the fact that it was set up like a concert rather than in-studio performance made it more enjoyable for JM and Co. They seemed pretty relaxed and into the music. Also, JM got to perform Geek in Pink rather than Wordplay for the millionth time. Then they started to perform Who Needs Shelter while the end credits rolled but it got cut off. HOWEVER, you can watch the entire performance at http://abc.go.com/primetime/jimmykimmel/garage.html. That is nice of Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Jason Mraz concert at Avery Fisher Hall, NYC on 10/16/05

I went but I want to spend more than a few minutes writing my review. I had decent seats but I couldn't quite make out if he wore his "TPISMYGF" shirt again at the show. Btw, I finally heard TP - Tristan Prettyman - on One Tree Hill or one of those WB shows. She sounded good - nice voice, interesting song. I think she made that t-shirt for her honey. Of course Jason Mraz was great. He's enormously personable, funny, talented and adorable. More to come...

Jason Mraz on Ellen DeGeneres on Weds., 2/1/06

I missed it. Have no idea what he sang or anything. I was a little late in reading my magazines this week and today, Friday, I saw that Jason Mraz was on The Ellen DeGeneres show...two days ago. Oh well. Maybe I'll catch the rerun.

Oh, on jasonmraz.com it says he was to perform Geek in the Pink.
