Fundraising Idea

We've been discussing participation in a lot of upcoming events, some out of town, etc.

To defray the costs of app fees and booth fees, etc., without taking money away from our primary expenses (nat'l fees, webhosting, etc.), what if we set up a special quarterly swag bag type sale. . . like the sampler, but only of Tulsa Craft Mafia goodies! We could charge $10 or $15 per "bag" and take pre-orders, which will give us an idea of the demand. We can promote on myspace and mailing lists.

What you include in the bag, will be up to you.

Not only will we be promoting our organization, but also ourselves as individual businesses . . . and saving some $$ for roadtrips to say . . .Stitch Austin?!

Okay, so what do you think? If we're going to do this, I say we get the ball rolling and set an order deadline of Feb 8th.
We can set up paypal payments on the website, under 'shop' and/or take cash payments from people irl.

Re: Fundraising Idea

I think with that type of thing people are going to want to know what's in the bag, so they know they won't be getting a bunch of business cards! So if everyone agreed to do this, I'd say we make a certain number of bags, each bag has the same thing, seller is upfront about what's going to be donated and that way the buyer knows what they're purchasing?

Re: Fundraising Idea

I would contribute some rings and pins. It would be awesome to cut down on travel costs!

Do we want to setup at Stitch Austin or just go? (another post probably)
