You are so right regulations don't pull people from a burning building. That’s very intellectual.
A good regulation can stop smokers from blowing 43 known carcinogens into the air that we breathe. Therefore, affecting this regulation can save millions of people from lung cancer. Lung cancer has killed approximately 163,510 Americans in 2005. I don’t have to wonder if any of you smokers are responsible for those deaths because you all contribute to it when you light up in a public space.
Of course, it is not possible to prevent death because we will all die, but it can be postponed. We can eliminate their cause of death from being from secondhand smoke. So we can save as many as 163, 510 Americans every year!
Or you can have a cigarette and not care who you're killing. There's reality for you. |
