I really wish you the best of luck.
"Last night I heard they are thinking of selling off the bar to a developer. The property sits in a prime location for new housing. While the bar was very
profitable prior to the smoking ban, it no longer
makes sense to have a bar there."
Knowing the Saint Paul City Council's "gang of four", I wonder if this is part of their intention. They're not very small business friendly when they want someones' property. The ban's going to make acquiring some small businesses a whole lot easier for them and their friends.
Just look at the wonderful job they did with that house on Jessamine avenue.
The first bar to go out of business because of the smoking ban was The Buttery, the owner wouldn't re-up either his liquor license or his lease because he knew what was coming.
Speaking of which, whatever happened to that "fund" councilman Thune proposed about helping small bar owners out, not that "adding to your food menu" is going to make a difference to a neighborhood bar anyway?
You may want to send some people with petitions out to the 'burbs and get them resigned 'cause quite a few people are heading out there.
Once again, good luck. |
