To most people, karaoke is laughable, to some it's an assualt on the ears, to others, it's a fun passtime and a great escape.
My business is karaoke and DJ. The smoking ban that is looking to possibly go into effect state-wide this summer is a .45 caliber slug to my business. This is going to decimate the karaoke world. The patchwork bans have already done this in EVERY area they were enacted.
My thought is to fill suit against the state for loss of livelihood, possibly as a class action suit including the other KJ's that will be affected. It should only take a month or two to see the fallout and the shake up that comes down the pike.
One of the problems is that once this smoking ban kicks in, I'll be broke in a heartbeat. This will kill me financially. Are there any lawyers out there willing to contact me that are pro-rights and give me some guidance here? |
