Message:   Since my original posting I have seen your Channel News Asia interview on the home page of this Web site. I now understand your personal dissatisfaction with the role that you were ultimately given, but that should not detract from the credit you are due for the way in which you executed that role. You express disappointment with the amount of screaming you were required to do as Jennie. I wonder if Chow Yun-Fat loses any sleep thinking about the amount of shooting he was asked to do as Ah Jong! From the English title of the film I was expecting less a human interest drama than a throwaway gangster flick. I don't think I am spoiling the plot for anyone if I refer to the scene that most changed my view of this - the Mexican stand-off that takes place in Jennie's flat. You bring more than a "flower vase" femininity to this scene. Jennie's innocent hospitality is critical to the (comedic) tension that makes this scene, in my opinion, the turning point in the relationships among the three principal characters. It also elevates the scene above what has otherwise become something of a cinematic cliche.

In the spirit of this Q&A forum, I stand by my original question.

Best wishes.
