Angus Mackay
Hi guys, I'm part of the Oxford United youth setup and I'm trying to keep track of some of our former scholars and wondered what the latest info is on Angus.. I knew he got injured last season, but has he made a comeback yet and if so, how is he doing. Cheers |

Jon. I spoke to Gus earlier this week and he has been advised by his specialist not to return to football until the beginning of next season. You are correct he suffered a broken leg in the summer of 2006 and unfortunately the healing process hasn't gone as well as expected and Gus has increased muscle wastage which is making rehab more difficult. He is also contemplating visiting the USA on an extended stay next year so at this time we are unsure whether he will be returning to this club. He is however going to spend some time with us trying to build up the muscle wastage lost though not taking part in official games. Hope this helps. EG |

Hi, Thanks for that, even if it is not the news we were hoping for. Can you pass on all our wishes from Oxford and hope his recovery is as swift as it can be. I'll keep checking in on here periodically to pick up any more news, but in the mean time, the best of luck for the rest of the season and that the reshuffle works in your favour next summer. |

peter both have the talent to play first team football and Leon has played many times as a left back but doesn't have quite the same impact as a wing back so hasn't featured in the latter games. As for Danny he has all the talent to be a very good player but unfortunately the club plays away games as well as home games and every time Danny has been selected for an away game he has given backword for a number of reasons sometimes too late to find a replacement. The commitment required at this level is very high and Danny so far has failed to show that commitment. |
