Ossett Albion FA Youth Cup.
A crowd of 69 saw the season get underway last night with a good 1-0 win against Worksop Town in the prelim. round of the FA Youth cup. A young Ossett side outplayed their opponents in all areas of the pitch,only an outstanding performance by the Worksop keeper prevented a larger scoreline. A goal by 16 yo Reggie Whitehead on 19mins the result of some excellent teamwork settled the game. Ossett now play w/c 24th Sept away to either Farsley Celtic or Stocksbridge Park Steel who play tonight (11th Sept). The u19's start their league season on Sunday 16th Sept away to local rivals Ossett Town ko 2.00pm. |

HAVING WATCHED THE GAME IN MENTION I TOO MUST COMMENT ON THE QUALITY OF THE FOOTBALL ON DISPLAY ONLY FANTASTIC BEING THE EXPLANITERY WORD THAT COMES TO MIND THE GOAL ITSELF PROMISING A DELUGE THERAFTER ONLY THIS DID NOT HAPPEN NOT FOR THE LACK OF TRYING YET THE QUALITY REMAINED THROUGHOUT THE 90 MINS THIS ALONE BEING A SIGN OF EAGERNESS TO WIN AND COMPETE THAT WILL STAND IN GOOD STEAD FOR THE SEASON COMING |

daniel whitehead & lee bennett looked awesome in the middle of the park going forward and our speed down either flank was immense a season of free scoring on its way dare i say??? |

I must agree our class shown in the middle wos awesome... Our lads dominated the centre ov the park.... even wen up against 3 opposition.... The cuting passes from our centre midfeild men wos perfectly shown in the build up 2 the goal..... KEEP IT UP LADS

What happened to that young lad from last season? Think his name was bret? I'm pretty sure he got sent off in one of the games last season too. He was a good battler, never stopped tackling, Is he still in the academy or has he left? |

brett as gone down the pecking order for some reason, he played virtually all the gameas last season in what I thought was a stronger team hence he as lost interest & started playing for the Redoubt on sunday instead. |

I didnt really lose interest, iwas just annoyed as i thought i was probably the best player in the team and when I was always put obn the bench i thought enuff was enuff
