Whitstable TT - 19/20 July and all the lovely stuff going on in Whitstable as well

Hi everyone,

Further to my message a few weeks ago, just a reminder to book accommodation in Whitstable for the event ASAP (can't emphasise that enough).

I have just had a meeting with the Harbour Master about the logistics of getting you all in the harbour before harbour festivities begin. We plan to unhitch your boat at the harbour entrance so that you can shoot off and park cars etc - hopefully your crew will be able to help out our marshalls with the boat. I assure you, we'll have a crack team on hand who will deal with the situation as painlessly as possible.

Parking will be an absolute nightmare in Whitstable that day, so you are advised to get to Whitstable very, very, early purely for this reason...however, you also need to aim at arriving before 10am or we will have problems getting you into the harbour (parades etc. kick off around 11 but event organisers will be setting up stalls etc.). It will be far better to arrive the night before and sample the delights of Whitstable and the fantastic hospitality here at WYC (we have also have food on a Friday).

Several bunk rooms at WYC are available at the moment - let me know if you want me to reserve your space (single sex may be your only option).

Please could you also email me (office@wyc.org.uk) and let me know who will be needing a campervan space and I'll do my best.

Again, after the initial argie bargie of gettng you all in, you'll be really pleased you made the effort ...it's such a great weekend to be in Whitstable - there's usually lots of entertainment around the harbour, bands, Morris Dancers, local stalls, lovely fish and craft fairs - all with a commentary. I believe our racing may also form part of the day.

I'll keep you updated.

Melanie

Just to say you can turn up at any time at Datchet and park overi looking the water (provided you are one of the first 100 odd cars!). Additional room for another 250+ with a Colnbrook view!

Camper vans and tents most welcome.

Well we had to prove Mel correct didn't we!

I've been to Datchet on several occasions and never seen a muscle - in water or attached to a human being. My people will be in touch shortly!

Do you mean mussels or muscles?

Both - and I will tell Dan you were disappointed last time he was there Mel!

I knew there was a use for vets, and as long as he types we stand a chance of reading his comments!

Dan flexed his muscles in Lake Garda - so he's exempt!
Anyway, I didn't make those comments it was the Trade Description Office.

Already three people with campers coming, sorting out their accommodation in advance and arriving the night before...that's what I like to see! Still lots of room in the bunk rooms.

I can definitely confirm that we will have spaces for campervans at the Whitstable TT. I would still appreciate it if you would let me know if you need a space.

Many thanks.

Melanie.
