Dart GP RYYC Bridlington 24-25th may
hi every one
this is early warning for the GP up at bridlington
we are going to try and put on a spectacular event this year but we need your help to do it!!!
I know its after the nationals but could you try and give us some numbers. as some of you know its always a good one with the bar opening till the small hours of the morning and the sailing is some of the best to be had (when the wind is right).
BUT this year we want to make it bigger and better the commitee is about ready to sit down and start planning it.
so please give us some feed back on what you fancy doing unlike some of the other years its going to be planned by dart sailors for dart sailors so if you have any request give me a shout and i will put it to them.
remember although we have a small fleet up here we are putting it on for you guys and girls that are traveling from all parts of the country so if we can do summat to make you enjoy remember and want to come back again that what we are going to do.
kind regards
Duncan (ryyc bridlington)

Re: Dart GP RYYC Bridlington 24-25th may
The original idea of going to Bridlington was to encourage clubs it that area to take part in the event, and maybe get them competing against each other in say a 3 series club competion with one of those events becoming a TT event.
Unfortunately there seems to be a lack onf interest from the other clubs and this has never happened. I'm not on the committee any more, but I would guess if you can get more local support and work together as a "Northern group" then you will attract more up from the south. Also I know there have been moans about the cost in the past!
May see you there, enjoyed the 1 day we had last time.

This is quite a topical subject since Rutland, Dee and RYYC will now form the 'Northern Circuit' for 2008 with the prize of a new jib to the highest placed boat over the three events. You need to attend all three to qualify. More info on the front page of the website to follow.

I was actually talking about the over Yorkshire clubs, maybe they could be a "North Northern!"

Thanks for the input so far and i hope that we can encourage more of local northern clubs to get involved and join us.
i think the idea about the northern circuit is a good idea we have quite a few boats that go to dee and rutland already so think we should do well in that one:)with regard to the price issue im not sure what its going to be this year but i will be taking these coments to the commitee when we have our first meeting next month so i will keep you posted. if you have any more comments or ideas please post them and let us know like i said in my first post lets make the RYYC Bridlington TT a good one this year.

Hi Duncan. My view is that the best way you can promote the RYYC event is to get as many people from your club as possible to the events that come before it - Rutland, Dee and the Nationals at Parkstone and talk to people at these events. It would also help if you get Gordy to do his kareoke act!

hi geoff
yea im sure if we put gordy as our headline act for the evening entertainments we will have people coming from everywhere haha as regard the other events im sure there will be a RYYC team going to them i think there will be a few boats at rutland which i will have to miss cos my boat is still in the repair shop but it hopefully will be done for dee and i think dee will be a big turn out for us and not really sure about parkstone yet but i quite fancy the nationals i think we might have a better turn out up north this year with the prize incentive aswell but we do want to make Bridlington as big as we can this year.
cheers

Remember Dee and Rutland are already established venues; great to see you there but you are now the UKIDA link to the "far north" and in that role it would be great to see other Yorkshire clubs at Brid.
