"The Big Green Time Machine" summer camps at the Northeast Georgia
History Center(Gainesville, GA) are designed for rising 4th, 5th and
6th graders. Supervised by certified teachers, the 5-day camp will
introduce campers to 5 major time periods, from Native Americans to
the 1950's. Using the resources of the History Center's exhibits &
collections, the campers will learn what life was like for different
people in Northeast Georgia at different times in history.
Each day will include story time with special guests, as well as
activities that relate to the time period, and projects that result
in items to take home such as:
-washing clothes on a washboard
-creating a pinchpot
-using a froe and mallet to make an oak shingle
-and cooking biscuits in a dutch oven
Camp sessions are from 9:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Available weeks:

Fees:
$100 for History Center members
$120 for non-members
