"Pandora" & "Danger"

Just read your review for Peter Hamilton's "Pandora's
Star"(which I already have) and you mentioned one of
the developments that the author didn't go into detail
was the rejuvenation technique. Thoght you ahould know
that this was the subject of an earlier novel called
"Misspent Youth". It concerns the very first person to
undergo this process. He also happens to be the
developer of the Datasphere(another development
mentioned in "Star"),the replacement for the current
Internet. The book may be hard to find; it hasn't
been aquired by a domestic publisher. The copy I found
was an import only book judging from the cover. I
bought in at the University Bookstore in Seattle a
year ago.

I also read Liz Moon's "Trading in Danger" and have
gotten more than halfway through with "Marque and
Reprisal". From what I can see up to now, the story-
line really has kicked into gear. Since you haven't
reviewed it yet I will only say that begins with an
opening chapter that is as shocking as the first 10
minuites of the opening episode of this season's 24
(and if you happened to catch it you know what I'm
talking about).

I really need to get back to Hamilton's and Moon's books straighaway. Just wanted to let you know.

Re: "Pandora" & "Danger"

Noticed that this thread is going down and thought I should bring it back up...have you found and read "Misspent Youth" yet?

I know you're busy w/other books(heck, you still haven't posted your reviews for THIS month yet)but I would really like to know.

Re: "Pandora" & "Danger"

Not yet. Naturally if I had done, the review would be up. May turned out to be a real FUBAR month for me in terms of being able to keep up my reading schedule. Too many unwelcome intrusions of a personal nature, which with all luck will be gone from my life starting now. Four new reviews to go up June 1, and I'll hopefully be back to the regular grind again.

Re: "Pandora" & "Danger"

I just buzzed DelRey's website and discovered that "Misspent Youth" will be released in September in hardcover.

I suspect you'll probably get an ARC at least a couple of months before the rest of the country.

Re: "Pandora" & "Danger"

I'd be psyched to read Hamilton's "Misspent Youth."

I'd also like to hear why does "The Dreaming Void" suck so bad??

Re: "Pandora" & "Danger"

I didn't think it sucked. Didn't offer much that PFH hasn't already done, perhaps, but a decent read for fans nonetheless.
