Arthur C. Clarke has died

Arthur C. Clarke died today, 3/18/08, at the age of 90.

Consider this a eulogy thread. Post whatever thoughts or reminiscences you might have.

Re: Arthur C. Clarke has died

****. I remember when I first read _Rendezvous with Rama_ years ago. It was one of the first books that literally stretched my mind and opened up the possibilities of science fiction. It's a **** shame that he's gone. But he left behind quite a legacy.

RIP, Mr. Clarke.

Re: Arthur C. Clarke has died

I read on CNN that on the Wednesday morning ACC died, the largest gamma ray bursts ever from a super nova were detected around 2:12 am. Maybe it was the universe's way of sending him off! ;)
