5 star rated novels
Hi all, I'm new to this site and love it but I can't understand why Verner Vinge's hugo award winning novel "A Fire Upon The Deep" wasn't included in the five star list. I have read most of the books on the list and I would rate Mr Vinge's book higher than most found there. Hey, if it's just me and everyone else thinks it shouldn't be on there then I can accept that. Actually, Doug, the reason that book's not on the 5-star list is because I haven't reviewed it at all yet! (I know...I have a lot of huge gaps to fill...) I will get around to more Vernor Vinge soon enough. Then we'll see just where A Fire Upon the Deep and A Deepness in the Sky wind up. Thanks for being a new reader! |

Thomas, Thanks for your honesty and quick reply. As a lover of hard science, alien weirdness, and page turning suspense...these two books stand at the top or near top of my personal list of favorites. I envy you for having these books ahead of you yet to read. Doug in Florida |
