Having reviewed the requirements for running the annual UKIDA Teach-In, advice has been taken regarding two major aspects; RYA Guidelines regarding ratios of adequately qualified instructors and the required insurance cover. Unfortunately we are not in a position to proceed with this year's Teach-In with the full confidence that we are suitably water tight in both these areas. It is therefore with great regret that I must announce that the 2008 Teach In (planned 19-20 Apr 08 at Grafham Water) is cancelled. Please understand that this decision has not been taken lightly and it has been made to protect the interests of Attendees, Instructors and the Association as a whole. We will now endeavour to plan a Teach In for 2009 which has suitable cover in both of the above areas. If anybody wishes to discuss this further, please contact me direct on 07733228979, since I must take full personal responsibility for this situation

Re: Teach In 2008
Hi Lee, I am sure the call has not been easy a real shame when you think of all the continual years it has taken place from the early Canada Dry days.
Good news that you are looking to put things back in place for 2009, in the mean time if there is something the class and Windsport can put together to make something work we should talk about it. Windsport have a team of cat instructors and coaches, some with considerable Dart18 experience, here at the centre, camping, lecture rooms support kit etc and INSURANCE, plus the facility to visit clubs or a region to carry out coaching on site. I realise it does not replace all the great social and other benifits the teach-in offers but it might help continue the skills development of Dart 18 sailors.
Willing to explore the idea if there is the call.
