Hello Gentlemen, anyone know how you tell the difference between Imperial and Metric accuumulators please? I have the newer Sausage type Leyland Titan ones and need to overhaul one of them please.

My bus number (if any): RML 2353, MB 306, MS 1103

Imperial or metric where? Presumably the pipework threads. they are all special pipe threads but i can;t remember what size or type. The two are not interchangeable.

The RM accumulator has a collar at each end, the Titan one doesn't. It would not be unusual to find one of each type fitted to a bus. While it is obviously important that the accumulator holds pressure, it is even more important that the attached cut out and non return valves function correctly. These should be tested at the time of accumulator replacement.
