Kyle is still flirting with fevers and this is the exact path that we went down last time that was not to a good place. We are praying we don't end up in the same place this time and that the fevers go away!
Everything else looks good, he looks good too. He's awake a bit more and responding a bit more too. He's still on the vent, so he can't talk to us, but he motions things with his weak arms and hands and we try to read his lips around the tube and have pretty good luck most of the time.
Kyle is down to 8 tubes now, they pulled out the tube in his belly and tomorrow he will be down to 7 becuase they are pulling out the drain to his heart. Neither were draining anymore, so are not needed anymore. They will put them back in if either backs up again. Just like they did last time.
They are working on weaning him off of the venthilator now, slowly but surely, he is responding. It's a painfully slow process, but he is doing great so far! It will take weeks to get him off, but well worth it. They are going slowly trying to work his muscles and lungs that have not been working for some time. Exercising them while still on the vent will make him more successful when he comes off of it.
His lungs continue to improve on xray! He is still retaining some fluid, but they have him on powerful diatretics to combat that now. We'll see how it all shakes out.
They will be doing dialysis on an, as needed basis. He's had it twice now and they haven't said when they will be doing it again. They are just watching his labs. They will do it again when his blood gets too dirty. They will continue to do it until his
kidney(s) take over the job (if they ever do). I'm standing by to give him a kidney if he needs one! But that's another bridge to cross at another time.
Aunt Holly pulled through her surgery ok, she is resting with her new baby Zachary who was 6lbs 2ozs and is healthy. They were able to get the bleeding stopped and all is well. Thank you for your prayers for her too!
We are glad to hear that Aunt Holly and the baby are doing well. We continue to pray for Kyle and all of you. Holding you in our hearts and prayers as always...
