01-13-08 KYLE UPDATE

We believe in the power of prayer and in God's healing, so we said no to the tracheotomy!!! We told the Drs we didn't want to do the trach. They aren't happy with us, but that was our decision to make. We want to give Kyle one more chance to breathe on his own and to make it without the vent or the trach!!

They will be taking him off the vent soon now, they were going to do it yesterday, but he was in too much pain, so they couldn't. He can't be on pain meds and come off the vent too becuase it makes him too sleepy to breathe on his own (so they say). So, we're unsure why he was all the sudden in pain again. He's been better...they had clamped off his kidney tubes for a couple of days, and thought that may have been it, so they unclamped those to see if that would help today. He also had dialysis to dry out his lungs yesterday and can't have it today becuase they're busy, so he probably won't get off the vent until tomorrow at the earliest...I'll let you know.

We know God will heal his little lungs and allow him the capacity to breathe on his own. There are enough of you all praying out there for him that we know God hears you and cares. We have mighty prayer warriors and we have faith that God will not let us down, so we move forward in faith and against medical advice.

Some people may think we're crazy, but if you lived our lives, you'd know what we know now. God is merciful. We don't always understand Him, but He can take any bad situation and make it into a good one. You just have to trust Him. Grow your relationship with Him everyday, He loves you and misses you...He waits for you......How long will you make Him wait?

Re: 01-13-08 KYLE UPDATE

Dear Kat,
You know your precious boy better than anyone; I'm thankful you are making the decisions that you feel best about. Never look back. Everything you do is out of love for Kyle. We continue to wait and pray and wait and pray... God will never leave you nor forsake you...or Kyle...hugs for both of you...and for Sean (although he probably doesn't appreciate hugs from those he barely knows :-) )...kiss you sweet babies; say, "hi" to Jerry, when you talk to him. We pray for all of you.
Love and prayers,
Jan and Art
