Just read that Father Tim Szott was just banned as a preist for possessing child pornography. Wasn't he our preist in the mid-late 80's?

Unfortunately yes, this is the same Fr. Tim Szott that was the pastor at St. Agatha in the early 90s. I was a parish member at St. Lawrence in Utica when the news broke, and went to church that weekend, and they made no mention of it.

He was sent to a "retreat" during the investigation, but there was no wrongdoing found with any children at the school or anywhere in his past. Turns out the material in question was on his parish computer, and he asked a parish member for computer assistance. That parish member found it and turned him in to police. Very sad. I have many fond memories of Fr. Tim.

Yes it is true. If you go to the Archdiocese website, it gives his "biography" and St. Agatha is listed.
For me, he was a good man and I find HARD to believe this. And am still reeling from this news, years later. From everything I read he never acted out on anyone, this may help some people, just knowing that?
