We are a family of four- husband, wife, son and daughter. We are public servants, devoting our lives to serving our nation.

Husband: Navy Veteran currently serving overseas in Afghanistan.

Wife: Public servant working in Washington D.C.

Kids: Boy and girl, both really young.

Our parents are aging and we want to create a space for them (in our basement) to make sure they can be taken care of as they get older. Unfortunately, when we bought our house we were tricked by the previous owners, who hid significant damage ($25K+) which includes rot and mold. We thought we had a case for fraudulent concealment, but it turned out to be difficult to pursue--- with a lot of up-front expenses.

Our goal: is to bring our house up to health standards and to make sure we can provide a living space for our parents as they age. We do believe in taking care of our parents (personally) in their old age and we want to make for a safe home so we can do that. On top of this, we have a child who has asthma and we are working to remediate the mold situation.

We are working a piece at a time to get the house in order and try and recoup after being scammed by the previous homeowner. We are asking for your help in this endeavor and we are doing everything possible to get our house in order, to make sure our family is safe and our parents are accounted for. This is not easy, as we are a split family (by distance-- Virginia to Afghanistan), but we are being frugal in our attempt to repair our house, bring it to health standards and assist our parents going forward.
