Many Vietnam veterans were spat upon and called "baby killers" when they returned from the war. President Trump's budget cuts are far worse than people yelling obscenities at returning veterans.
His budget proposal takes away disability payments that were "promised" to disabled veterans by the VA (i.e. rated "permanent and total disability"). Please don't let the VA betray our disabled veterans because of Trump's thoughtless and disrespectful VA budget cuts. Literally all of the over 200,000 disabled veterans affected by Trump's budget cuts are rated 100% disabled. They represent some of the oldest and most severely disabled veterans. Each and every one of them over the age of 65 and receiving minimum social security will immediately lose their 100% rating.
The reason the VA has given for the massive cut in compensation is to "save money." What will be the next radical idea the VA will propose to "save money?" President Trump and the VA are asking Congress to throw over 200,000 of our most severely disabled brothers and sisters who sacrificed themselves for our country, along with their dependents, under the bus!
Please take five minutes to phone your representative and tell them to eliminate this part of Trump's federal budget plan. The people who are proposing these cuts, including President Trump and Secretary Shulkin, never served a day in the military, let alone on the battlefield. Please read what the American Legion, AMVETS, DAV, VFW, VVA, and other veterans service organizations are saying about these cuts and please join the fight for those who served America by phoning your representative.

Only Veterans and their families know the extraordinary costs we had to pay to earn these promised benefits. Now we need to fight to keep what we’ve already earned. Even if you believe this might not affect you personally it will take just a few minutes to complete ALL of the above actions to stand with your fellow veterans. Remember:
