Just this past Thursday I showed my satellite class how sharp White Sands shows up on 1 kilometer resolution visible satellite imagery. Next class I'll show them your photos - great! In a simple black and white weather satellite image features like the Badlands of South Dakota, ancient Lake Bonnevile (salt flats, and of course White Sands in New Mexico show up so brightly. Areas like the black hills covered in coniferous trees show up as dark blotches in the visible satellite imagery.

I have more pics from the white sands and the sorounding Organ Mountains.I'll post some for you later, also Cloudcroft Mountain,NM.(9,850 feet hight)
Where is your AO ??. I spent two months at Laughlin AFB
in Texas,last year. Allmost lost my RV with a tornado.
