Just curious about how many whom knows what your Bn, in which you served in Viet Nam in, is "doing today" so to say. Is it active, or inactive? If active, is it in CONUS, or is it deployed somewhere? If for example deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan, imagen how the soldiers serving in it "today" of your own Bn, would enjoy for example receiving a snailmail letter from a fellow "Bn-Brother", from earlier times of the unit. Kind of, "tracks in the mud" all of a sudden leading to "contact and talk"....
Take for example the 2/3rd Inf Rgt. Unless I am misstaken, the 2/3rd Inf Rgt is currently a part of the 3rd Bde of the 2nd ID, at Fort Lewis in WA. This, as a SBCT-unit.
The 3/7th Inf Rgt, evidently is "today" a part of the 4th Bde ("SBCT") of the 3rd ID, and has its "home" at Fort Stewart in GA. (Home from Iraq since January 2006).
Even if not being deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan, still, imagen what it could mean for the soldiers, to hear from You!
