Gateway contacted me again regarding visits. They are on our waiting list from last spring. I'm bumping them up a bit since they called again... They would like visits in their lobby only. Any day of the week (Monday through Friday). Anytime between 10:30 and noon or between 1:30 and 5pm. Once a month, once a week, every other week. Whatever we can offer. Again, only in the lobby. They would encourage their residents to go to the lobby at visit time. Please let me know if anyone is interested. Perhaps one of the teams in training who are finishing their hours???

We have some teams waiting for their certification from National LOAL. Keiko and Roxy may be good candidates? Both those dogs & their owners love visiting the elderly.

Yup, you are right. I contacted Karen and she and Roxy are very interested. She'll be contacting the activity director to make the arrangements. Timing was perfect on this one.

Still looking for someone to help out at the Josyln Center in Escondido. Julie prefers staying at the facilities she's already been visiting, so we'll keep Josyln on our waiting list for now along with a few other places.

Wonderful news on both counts:
We love watching the residents enjoy the connections they've made with Keiko & Julie at Remington & especially Belmont Village Alzheimer's residents, so glad they are staying on there. We needed more pets at Belmont Village in particular.

Karen has a special place in her heart for elderly citizens of our community, so it is wonderful that Gateway is getting Karen & Roxy as their visit captain-team.
