Ghost routemasters

I thoroughly enjoyed watching Polanski's latest film Ghost. Robert Harris wrote the screenplay based on his recent book of the same name.

It has some scenes near the beginning and at the end which were supposed to be set in London and had red buses driving about in clearly foreigh streets to try and set the tone. I noticed, I think, a Midland Red double decker, a Routemaster with position lights on the corners of the roof and, I think, an RT crossing the end of the road in the distance.

There is nothing about them on the Buses on Screen website yet.

I wondered if Brian Watkinson knew anything about them?

Re: Ghost routemasters

Not any of our buses Chris although we have just done a scene for a French film made in Vichy but set in London in 1941 in which we had RT 1400 a Saunders bodiies RT looking like a war time RT bus, we got away with it as they only took distant shots from the side and close ups of the front above the waist. We had some authentic blinds made from vinyl for Route 9 destination ST pauls. Philippe Grit had to get a haircut though, his flowing locks were totally wrong for the period!!
