FUEL THEFT

You can also try DIESAL DYE.

It dyes the diesal BLUE so whether you steal it by syphon or making a hole in the tank whatever fuel you get is BLUE.

Re: FUEL THEFT

Dye is a good idea but don't use red as then you could be accused of using it illegally.

Trouble is taking steps to make life harder for 'Chummy' is futile unless the Police start to take this sort of crime more seriously. Currently, they are pretty much useless at dealing with 'real' crime and only seem capable of dealing with administrative crime ie dishing out fines for non-criminal offences.

I would not be bothered so much if they could match their politically driven enforcement with proper crime detection for the less sexy offences like..fuel theft which costs our company at least £15,000 per annum in spite of all our preventative measures. Not so much as a litre is missing from our depots but out on the road is a different story and it is always in the same places.

Re: FUEL THEFT

A quick look through my old area papers ( Kent Messenger) shows the Police are very active chasing up and arresting people for fuel thefts. Maybe there are more pressing crimes in some areas than fuel thefts where there is little chance of a detection. The Police would say give us the men and we will folow these up, but I fear we are getting right off the subject of buses and into politics!!!
