Barrow Hill Roundhouse Beer Festival

Morning all

As previously promoted, 2276 provided (along with 2 Leyland Lynx buses) a free bus service from Chesterfield Station to and from The Barrow Hill Roundhouse on Friday and Saturday just gone. We had at least 10 runs with a full load as well as numerous loads of 40 plus and must have shifted more than 1500 people over the two days. She run extremely well despite the very hilly terrain and 8 tons of real ale drinkers (they are not small people). I must say to those that have only ever driven lightly loaded buses, it does change the handling enormously.

The event was that succesful they were running out of beer!

Re: Barrow Hill Roundhouse Beer Festival

Hi David
Great pictures.
I like the one of the queue waiting it must have been very satisfying to see them all get on.
I totally agree the old girls do handle a lot differently with a load on,but as you say they seem to just get on with it.
Something satisfying about seeing a full bus.

Regards
Graham
