Sacre bleu, Quelle horreur.

Stripping out a couple of 590 heads this afternoon, I found that no 6 inlet valve has been running for goodness knows how long with only one collet holding it in place. How it hasn't dropped the valve is an incredible piece of luck.

Earlier found a perennial AEC complaint. 8 pushrods with a failed top soldered joint, which accounts for the top end clatter.

Take the rocker covers off an AEC and all sorts of worms appear.
