RMOOA Dirty Spares open day plus mini RM real ale and rock festival

Dear Owners/Operators

RMOOA Dirty Spares open day plus mini RM real ale and rock festival

As mentioned in a bulletin a few weeks ago, RMOOA are planning to hold an open sale day for the membership for all the dirty spares it holds. I am pleased to let everyone know that this sale will go ahead on Saturday 22nd September 2012, as previously advertised.

We have now had chance to sort and catalogue all the extra dirty spares we collected from other locations this year. A list of these dirty spares will be listed by Pete Rodgers on the RMOOA web site in the next couple of days. So on top of what the website advertises in the shop, all the other spares will now be listed and available to view.

The idea is that the membership can come and look at what we have in respect to the dirty spares and buy any items if they so wish. These will be items that the association has sufficient stock of or deemed uneconomical for the association to keep or recondition. Also we will have full inventory of normal spares that we hold out to view so that will also be available. This is an opportunity to see exactly what we hold and a chance to buy from our full inventory, rather than the few items we normally take to bus events.

The stores and the sale will be held at Hill Farm, Jouldings Lane, Farley Hill, Reading, Berkshire, RG7 1UR. The farm main gates will be open from about 12pm and we will be open until about 5pm (when we are off to the field next door for the mini real ale and rock festival). As stated in the last bulletin, please don’t be tempted to come down to view the items unannounced, as I am only at the stores a couple of times a week max and the 3 guard dogs the farm have are not the most welcoming to strangers plus the Albanian farm labourers working the farm can give the same welcome as the dogs!

You can turn up during the times given above unannounced if you wish or more favourable if you can let me know via alun.mitchell@ntlworld.com so it gives us an idea who might be about that day.
There is good road access and plenty of space for anyone who wishes to bring their RM that afternoon if they are staying for the real ale and mini rock festival that evening (www.routemonster.co.uk ) .
If this event is successful, then further events will be held again in the future. This event is designed for the membership to help them maintain and restore their buses, not for traders to collect/stash parts to sell in the future. Therefore please do not expect to be able to buy multiples of the same items. These items were originally attained for the membership, so we will try to ensure that is where it will go, where we can.

Also in conjunction to the RMOOA spares open day, one of the guys has a RML converted into a catering/restaurant/bar bus stored at the same location and is holding a mini real ale and rock festival that evening (150 – 200 people) in the field next to our stores. Starting mid afternoon going through the night and even to the next morning, with his RML doing the catering and bar for the event. He has asked us to announce an open invite for any RM owners who wish to bring their bus down for that day/night. The entry will be FOC for the buses but there will be a small charge per person for the event. If you wish to stay for the event, then please go to www.routemonster.co.uk or call 0333 355 3305 for tickets and more details. Expect a good night with excellent ales.

So there is an opportunity to see what spares we have and bring your bus if you so wish, for an overnight stay with a bit of music and a pint or two.

Many thanks
Mitch
