Can anyone recommend a chrome plating company in the southeast ? As I am looking to get the front bumper and headlight rings done on the GS . Cheers Mick

Peterborough is my nearest town where there are at least two platers; Peterborough Plating Co. Ltd. Tel: 01733 233250, and Brighthouse. Tel: 01733 266138.
We have our glokenspiel bars chrome plated and originally used the former, but now only use Brighthouse as they do a good job (thicker chrome) and are cheaper. They also polish brass to a mirror finish for us. Also a smaller company and Niel is very helpful there. I have seen vehicle parts including bumpers awaiting collection.

I used to use Wandle Plating at Croydon but I've heard they've stopped trading, but there's another company in Croydon who are as good. Can't remember their name though!

Swan Plating disappeared with all the fittings from RFW14, so I'm having to have new window handles and other bits made; the Central Engineering company at West Hythe is ok but expensive and I've had a few items where the plating has worn off in a relatively short space of time, and they sub out most of thw ork to a firm in Deal, hence my suggestion of the Croydon company.

The other company at West Hythe is is the same as Central Engineering, same conact details!

There was a company on the Old Kent Road that did it, im sure it was called London Chroming but couldnt swear to it.

There was and I believe still is a very small platers in Albany Road Brentford right by the High Street.

I had a lot of stuff done there about 12 years ago and a lot of it I still have and has lasted very well.
Have not been that way for a few years but maybe others know of it.

Many thanks chaps . I have tried many of these places and they can't do the bumper due to the size of it ! I am going to go to Ashford one in the morning , as they have a tank that will chrome items up to 7 ft ! Fingers crossed I won't have to take out a second mortgage ....

Latest up date ! Went to London Chroming this morning in the Old Kent Road . Spoke to Phillip he was so helpful .What a great place , can't wait to see how they come back !
