GS 60

Does anyone know if there is there a definitive event marking the 60th anniversary of the introduction of the GS this year? I know there are a series of Country Bus running days including the GS.

My bus number (if any): RMs 238, 471. 2213 & GS 17

Re: GS 60

Chris, the south east bus festival on 6th April at the Kent Showground, near Maidstone is intending to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the GS according to Dick Gilbert's classic bus events list. Here's a link to the south east bus festival website although it doesn't say much!

I went to last year's event and there was an impressive selection of vehicles and plan to take one of my buses this year.

My bus number (if any): RM1699, Eastbourne Regent V (KHC369) Eastbourne Regent III (AHC442)

Re: GS 60

I'll probably make the effort to get to the one near Maidstone, work commitments permitting, as my GS67 is the FIRST preserved GS. I've owned it since September 1969!
