Mike Banfield

Mike Banfield former president of the Historic Commercial vehicle Society has died. Without his lead back in the 1950s there would be few preserved commercials around today, nor would the interest be as it is. We have lost an important figurehead.

Re: Mike Banfield

Hi all , this is very sad news indeed ,as stated Mike was one of the forfathers of bus preservation along with Prince Marshall et al , it will be a sad loss to the preservation movement as a whole . My condolences go out to his family at this difficult time ,may he rest in peace. What will happen now to his rare collection of vintage buses, those anyone know?

My bus number (if any): none yet!
