something to reflect on

Does anybody know why the original nearside mirrors were so damned small?

My bus number (if any): RM1353/RM875/RM737

Re: something to reflect on

You RM drivers are lucky...us GS owners have small mirrors BOTH sides!

Saving on glass? Rationing? There's a war on? No elfensafetea culture?

Re: something to reflect on

And RFs had two driver's mirrors.

The original RT mirrors were the same size as the O/S ones but reverted to the small round ones which at the time were designed to look at the platform and rear wheel, not vehicles approaching up the N/S in a one way system.
On RMs they were made bigger with the RMCs on first overhaul and RCLs from new. When the DMSs arrived there was a general retrofitting of red RMs with larger black desmo mirrors and O/S size ones.

My bus number (if any): RTL 960, RMC 1458 RM 1585, M 961, M 271 and several RTs
