In Abbey Wood Garage......

Some pictures taken in Abbey Wood Garage on 29th Oct 1981 - a couple of days before the garage closed.

RM 358 had only just been overhauled. Months later it was a `Wear & Tear` withdrawal at Peckham and was one of the AEC engined buses included in the mass cull of RM`s following the 4/9/82 service reductions. Less than a year after taking this picture the bus was at Norths scrapyard.

Re: In Abbey Wood Garage......

Ah, this is my patch... :)

I well remember RMs from AW on the 180 and 161 - like many of the smaller garages, AW's buses were generally in a good state - was quite surprised that they didn't adopt a vehicle as a showbus. Still, there was always SP's immaculate RM 8 and RM 704/770 in the local area!
