Watford running day

Hi all , for any fellow number crunchers . Today at Watford Running day organised by Amersham & District group were STL2377 , RT604/3062 & 3254, RTL139 & 453 , GS13 ,RM6/29/1005 & 1397 , RML903/2440/2456/2683 , RMA58 / MB90 and in Greenline livery T961 (A961SYE). The weather was marvellous and the day went without a hitch apart from the people selling out of programmes by ten o clock!. I got to travel on most of the above buses from 0930 onwards when I arrived at the event,it's 20 mins drive from my house, apart from the maybe Hertford running day and of course my home town events held in St Albans ,the quickest time to get to a running day!.

My bus number (if any): none yet!

Re: Watford running day

That was a 15 hour, 200 mile round trip, requiring three drivers and consuming about 19 gallons of diesel, to get just one bus to the event. The return journey alone took 5 1/2 hours. It takes a lot of time, money, effort and dedication from owners to provide vehicles to support these running days. There is also a huge amount of preparatory work for the organisers obtaining the necessary permissions, checking the routes, and a hundred other things.

Re: Watford running day

But well worth it.
The running days I've been to have all been really excellent, very inclusive and something for everybody.
I prefer them to straightforward rallies as it's more about what a bus was built to do, carry passengers.

It is appreciated, both the organisers and the owners and crews, do a great service.

Re: Watford running day

Roy I totally respect the owners who bring the buses too the running days and shows we all love the effort all of you go to to get them there
