Prop shaft sizes

Changing a gearbox today in a Cummins engined RML2688, I had a hell of a job getting the box to drop down as the front prop would not move far enough to allow this. Much cursing, jiggling of the fork lift and a large hammer and lever bars were needed.

ISTR having this problem with other Cummins buses. Has anyone else found this?
