Grub Screws

Good evening all .
Wonder if anyone would know size and thread for the grub screws that hold handles onto rear emergency exit inside and out .

Many Thanks
Neil Scullion

My bus number (if any): RML2484 + RM1807

Re: Grub Screws

Neil, not ignoring you, I'm trying to find one to see, not listed in any parts list I have, you need a garage spares list. However, it might be the same as the RT which I'll look up tonight.

My bus number (if any): RTL 960 RMC 1458, RM 1585 and loads of RTs

Re: Grub Screws

RMs are UNF, RTs are BSF! That much is all I know.

My bus number (if any): RML2532

Re: Grub Screws

On the RT the screw is "3/8 BSF 1" hollow screw." It has a Brisch number 21223-044 but that is not much use as that numbering system is hardly used now. Not sure why RM should be different as both buses developed at the same time, but at least you know the size and possible threads.

Re: Grub Screws

Thank you both for taking the time to find out . I think someone in the past has put oversized bolts in and botched the threads

Re: Grub Screws

The thread should be in the had
ndle part, then the tip of the screw locates in a drilling in the window bar.

Re: Grub Screws

It sounds as though it would be better to tap a new thread and use an easlily available grub screw corresponding to the new thread.
.
Far easier than scratching around for an original size grub screw especially if the thread is suspect.
