Wilson GB 32 gearbox, electric switch unit

My RML 2490 obviously has a problem with the gearbox. Sometimes it is not possible to get into gear. As soon as I open the switch unit, touch the spring contacts and close the unit again it works without problems until I switch the engine off. Has anybody had a similar problem? How can it be repaired?

My bus number (if any): JJD490D RML 2490

Re: Wilson GB 32 gearbox, electric switch unit

It could be a number of problems, the most usual is the 7 core cable that goes from the control unit behind your head in the drivers cab, it gets worn through where it goes into the EP valve block, which may be why you get the problem you have.

You take the top off the box, this re-connects the worn out wire and it works, you drive along the road, the wire vibrates, loses contact, it doesn't work!
