Awkward oil leak

I've got a troublesome oil leak high up on the off side of the AV590 engine. The oil looks like it is comming from the join between the banjo connection and the pipe. I wonder if the pipe is fractured close to the join.

Quite apart from the fact that it is really hard to get to, I'm reluctant to start work on it unless I have a spare pipe and banjo connector to repace it with.

I wondered if anyone has had a similar problem and how they dealt with it?

Many thanks, Chris

My bus number (if any): RMs 238, 471 and 2213, GS17

Re: Awkward oil leak

That looks like a failed joint on the banjo union but the bolt does not look to good either.

It could also be the washers on the union.

If you have a spare, get it copied by a machine shop or possibly a similar one using a stainless braided hose and connection. Pirtek should be able to help on that one. A modern hose and connection should be immune from vibration fracture and last a lifetime.

Re: Awkward oil leak

Thanks Jack, I'll try and get a copy from a mate with some spare engines.

Thanks again, Chris
