Interesting Surprise

We stopped at the Holiday Inn Express at Kassam Stadium, Oxford last Tuesday and I was surprised to see an RMA complete with original luggage trailer in the car park. The bus was RMA62, owned by John (Joe) Letts, who was driving. It transpired that the bus was transporting the South African TV team covering the Rugby World Cup. The lower deck was filled with benches of equipment and there was a lot more gear in the trailer. Apparently material was being transmitted from the bus by satellite link. The upper deck is fitted out with tables. The bus had already covered quite a few miles to and from the North and will be in the London area at Twickenham and elsewhere in the next few days.

The bus has an interesting history, having been a playbus and travelled to Baghdad as part of the peace convoy.

My bus number (if any): RML2302
