Engine oil level Indicator.[Dipstick]

My Cummins engine has a dipstick which has no apparent way of letting me know if I have pushed it in too far or not far enough.
The difference between where I think it should be pushed into and where it physically can be pushed in to is the difference between having a low oil reading or a well over full reading.
Any help will be greatfully received.

Re: Engine oil level Indicator.[Dipstick]

Hi Graham

The information I obtained when I had 2335 was that the dipstick length was 815mm with the min marking from end 50mm and maximum 75mm in case like mine the markings had disappeared.

Hope this is helpful to you.

Re: Engine oil level Indicator.[Dipstick]

Hi Ed
Thanks very much for the info it certainly has helped. The dipstick for my bus has no stop point or collar so it is possible to push the thing right in.
It will be nice to take the guess work out of has she got enough or too much.
