Dipstick

Hi all

Can anyone point me me in the right direction where I could obtain an engine sump dipstick for an RTL which has an original Leyland engine built in 1952

Thanks

My bus number (if any): RML 2619 RM 1174. RTL 1323

Re: Dipstick

Just to let you know it's not me with the dipstick enquiry - it's another Graham B - thanks

I believe the RT one does the trick, I have an RTL engine and will look. I also have an LT drawing of dipstick lengths and markings, I'll check later.
We made our own RT ones from brass strip

If anyone has the RM drawing to compare, RM Leyland engine and RTL engine are both 0680, the length of the RT dipstick is 32 1/8" the 4 markings from the bottom indicating gallons to be put in are:
at 4" 0
at 3" 1
at 2" 2
at 1" 3
I have just looked at my RTL one, a different part no from the RT one but a similar length, it is fixed in the dipstick tube, it has markings very similar to the RT for amounts to be put in.

My bus number (if any): RTL 960, RM 1585, RMC 1458 and several RTs

Re: Dipstick

Hi Brian
If you could email me with any spec you have that would be much appreciated, thanks

Graham

Re: Dipstick

My edit overlapped your post Graham, I hope the additions help. The markings at the bottom are the important ones!

Re: Dipstick
