Insurance

My insurance renewal arrived the other day with only a few days left before the expiry date. Not only has the insurance tax increased from 6.0% to 9.5% but the "administration charge" has increased from £30.00 to £60.00 (for the combined insurance + recover policies). Rigton's says that they are still competitive, but with now 1 day left before the expiry date, I have little or no time left to shop around to check.

Has anyone recently checked to see if they are still competitive ?

(I almost gave this the subject of "also not happy" ....)

My bus number (if any): RM1368

Re: Insurance

I've just had a one day hire-and-reard extension on my GS, not sure how much they charged for that but it used to be £46. The insurance tax you can blame the government/brexit/the EU/whatever...

However, their preserved bus policy is quite cheap, even with having to pay the £46 a day for H&R. Remember they've changed from the previous insurer to a new one who has taken over the previous one and has no doubt put the prices up. they have a niche market. Be aware there's also new restrictions which I posted on here a few months ago.

Their prices for a full-time preserved PSV are still quite cheap, use up to 25 days a year for H&R.
