Interior heating for refurb RML

I am trying to get more heat into the interior of a refurb RML (Not one of mine, RML 2714) and i wondered if it was advisable to drain the fluid out of the current system as it would have been in there since the early 1990's. There is a joint on the near side where the engine radiator pipe joins the pipes to the interior radiators.

I wonder if any other owners have drained their heating system and how it is best to flush the system out of any sludge.

All experiences in getting some warmth into the interior would be appreciated

David
