Re: AEC FAN BELT

Thanks Stuart, very helpful.
Are these Dunlop or gates references? I can find a Dunlop SPA1140 and 1090, do you have any other information as French suppliers don't show Dunlop equivalents.

My bus number (if any): RTL 960, RMC 1458, RM 1585 and several RTs

Re: AEC FAN BELT

My belts are dunlop. The link below gives all the specs of the belt to help you find an alternative.

Re: AEC FAN BELT

There are various ways of calculating the belt length if the diameter of the pulleys and the distance between centres of the pulleys are known. The minimun and maxiumum adjustment distances will also need to be known. After obtaining the length you need to select the belt type from width and depth. This is probably the simplest since it is purely calculation and does not require knowledge of elementary geometry and more slightly more involved trigonometry.
