Maintenance Schedule, Safety System

Hey guys, I'm hoping someone can help prevent me a bunch of research and legwork.

I need to put together material for a safety program which includes the vehicle and drivers before the bus can go into service as a rolling restaurant.

I am looking to see if someone has a maintenance schedule and pre and post trip inspections that could be e-mailed.

If you have a basic policy manual which outlines a system that would help too.

I know most of you are far away but I can work out some sort of remuneration if need be- food gift cards probably wont help but if you are in town some day...

Thanks

Lorne

Re: Maintenance Schedule, Safety System

Most of what you need is in here:

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/guide-to-maintaining-roadworthiness

That explains what you need to do once you have read it thre are other gov't sites which will give driver's hours reg's etc.

I'm not sure without looking whether a mobile restaurant comes under HGV reg's or not, nor whether you will require an operator's licence, but this will help:

Investing in a Walker's Manual would be good start Look at RMOA site for details

Re: Maintenance Schedule, Safety System

The DfT/DVLA/Traffic Commissioners have just issued new guidelines for the safe operation and maintenance of buses, coaches and lorries.

Link here:https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/760818/guide-to-maintaining-roadworthiness-commercial-goods-and-passenger-carrying-vehicles.pdf

It's a hefty 112 pages, but it contains everything you ought to know. A new item to the driver's daily walk-round check is the addition to check the vehicle height is present in the vehicle and that the driver is aware of the height.
