New Stainless Steel Routemaster Exhaust

Hi All

I am considering having a stainless steel exhaust made for my buses for the rear section after the silencer, so the little stubby piece that goes over the B Frame, the elbow and the end bend section. These end pieces are the bits that rot quickly compared to the pipes closer the front of the bus.

I have a supplier, they have been given original examples and can re-produce these sections (including the flanges) however they need a minimum order of 30.

Is anyone interested in a set? The total price will be £300+VAT, so cheaper than Dinex and as these will be made from Stainless Steel they will last forever.

If you'd like a set please contact me before the 31 December on the email below as the company has reserved me a slot in their production for early January.

David

My bus number (if any): RM765, RM548 and RM1783

Re: New Stainless Steel Routemaster Exhaust

Stainless steel exhausts don't last forever; they crack and welding stainless is not as easy as mild steel is given a similar condition. Both are equally vulnerable to getting knocked off when reversing or going over uneven ground. Over 50% of the rear exhaust sections I replace start off as damage related.
