Re: Safety Inspection

Maybe take the bu to a specialist in RMs for safety check for a second opinion?

Imperial do rebuilt or new wheel cylinders but they are not cheap. Having changed one , will your garage know how to bleed the system properly or how to check the accumulator pressures?

My bus number (if any): RML2532

Re: Safety Inspection

I can re-charge the accumulators. Is the bleed procedure in the manual?

There are no RM specialist here in Vancouvet so I am slowly becoming one.

Any advice/direction would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Lorne

Re: Safety Inspection

Aha, that explains it then. :) I don't know about what's in the manual, most of my knowledge was got before the manual was printed! To bleed the brakes, with bus over a pit run the engine, wedge the brake pedal down with a bit of wood or get someone to sit in the cab with the brake lightly applies, go round each wheel cylinder and open the bleed nipple until fluid free from bubbles appears. BEWARE, this is a very high pressure system, 1200 psi or more can come out! When that's done at each cylinder, release the footbrake then top up the brake oil.

Don't pump the brakes as you would with bleeding car brakes!
